At Curvingo, we are committed to providing a safe and secure interactive learning environment for our users. Curvingo is designed for students and individual learners, and for teachers who follow their students' progress in a class. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

1. Who We Are

Curvingo is an interactive learning platform that allows students to engage with mathematics and science through dynamic content and AI-powered assistance. We prioritize your privacy and ensure that your data is used solely to enhance your learning experience.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide a personalized learning journey:

• Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, country, and birthday. This helps us personalize your dashboard and ensure age-appropriate content. For a teacher account, we ask for the name of your school or coaching centre instead of your birthday.
• AI Chat Interactions: We collect the messages you exchange with our AI Assistant, including the content of your questions and the AI's responses. This allows you to resume your conversations and helps us improve the assistant's helpfulness.
• Learning Progress: We track your progress through courses, including scores on interactive steps, completion status of sections, and your responses to academic questions.
• Time on Each Section: While you are signed in and have a section open, your browser counts the time you spend on it: time only counts while the page is visible and you have scrolled, tapped or typed in the last two minutes. We store the total for each section.
• Classes: If you are a teacher, we store the classes you create: their names, codes and courses. If you are a student, we store which classes you have joined.
• Usage Analytics: We monitor your engagement with the platform, such as the total time spent learning, points earned, and login frequency to provide you with insights into your learning habits.
• Technical Data: Like most websites, we collect basic technical information such as IP addresses and browser types to ensure the platform remains stable and secure.
• Purchases: If you buy a Premium subscription or a book, the payment is handled by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record. We never see your card or bank details; we only store whether your subscription is active and which books you have bought.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to support your education, including:

• Saving your progress so you can pick up where you left off.
• Powering the AI Assistant to provide contextually relevant help.
• Displaying your achievements, points, and learning stats.
• Showing teachers the progress of the students who chose to join their class (section 6).
• Improving our interactive content based on how learners interact with it.
• Providing technical support when needed.

4. Our Privacy Promises

We adhere to strict standards to keep your data safe:

• No Selling Data: We never sell your personal information or chat data to third parties.
• No Targeted Advertising: We do not use your data for marketing or targeted advertising.
• Specific Educational Use: Your information is used only to provide and improve the Curvingo learning experience.

5. Data Sharing and Security

Apart from the teachers of the classes you choose to join (section 6), we share data only with essential service providers that are contractually bound to protect your privacy: hosting and database services, Dodo Payments (which processes payments and keeps the transaction records that tax law requires) and the AI model provider that powers Sina. We use industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure of your information.

6. Classes and Teachers

A teacher can make a class on Curvingo and give its code to their students. Joining a class is always your choice: you see the class, its teacher and what joining shares before you join, and you can leave it at any time from your dashboard.

While you are in a class, its teacher sees, for the courses of that class only:

• Your name.
• Your progress in each course and each of its sections, as a percentage.
• The time you spent on each section, and when you last worked on the class's courses.

Your teacher does not see your email address, birthday, answers, AI chats, purchases, or your progress in other courses. When you leave a class, or the teacher removes you or deletes the class, the teacher no longer sees any of this. Your own progress always stays in your account.

If you are a teacher, students who open your class code or join link see your name, the name of your school or coaching centre, and the class's name and courses.

7. Children's Privacy

Curvingo is intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete that information.

8. Your Rights and How to Exercise Them

Wherever you live, you can exercise the following rights. They include the rights of Data Principals under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and those under US state privacy laws (such as California and Virginia):

• Right to Know / Access: You can ask for a copy of all the data we hold about you. Email contact@curvingo.com from the email address of your account; we reply only to that address, so that nobody else can obtain your data. You will receive a file with your profile, learning progress, time on each section, classes, purchases and AI chat history within 30 days.
• Right to Correct: You can update your name, email address and country at any time in your Account Settings. To change the school or coaching centre of a teacher account, email us.
• Right to Delete: You can delete your account at any time in your Account Settings; section 9 explains what happens next. You can also ask us by email to delete it for you.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You can stop our processing of your data at any time by deleting your account, and you can end a Premium subscription at any time (see our Terms). You can stop sharing your progress with a teacher at any time by leaving their class.
• Right to Grievance Redressal: If you believe we have handled your data wrongly, write to contact@curvingo.com. We acknowledge every request and answer it within 30 days.
• No Sale or Sharing: We do not "sell" your personal information or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by US state laws.

9. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account:

• Your account is marked for deletion and you have 7 days to change your mind in your Account Settings.
• After 7 days your profile, learning progress, points and AI chat history are permanently erased from our systems. You are removed from the classes you joined, and the classes you teach are deleted with their codes.
• A Premium subscription is cancelled at once and ends at the close of the billing period you have already paid for, so you are not charged again.
• Books you have bought are lost with the account; they are not refunded.
• Records of your payments stay with Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, for as long as tax and accounting law requires. They are no longer linked to a Curvingo account.

Accounts that have not been used for 4 years are deleted in the same way. Anonymized, aggregate statistics (section 11) are not deleted, as they cannot identify you.

10. Data Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data. Your password is encrypted, and we regularly review our security practices to prevent unauthorized access.

11. Aggregate and De-Identified Data

We may use anonymized data (data that cannot be traced back to you) for research, development, and to demonstrate the effectiveness of Curvingo's teaching methods.

12. Updates to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our platform evolves. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the platform interface or via the email address associated with your account.
